July 2003--Nu-Look Collision Center and Corporate Headquarters broke ground in May on the corner of West Henrietta Road and Lehigh Station Road in Henrietta, New York. Nu-Look chose Passero Spoleta Design-Build, a newly incorporated company formed to better meet the design and construction needs of owners. Design-Build is an alternative project delivery method to the more time consuming, traditional design-bid-build method.

Once ground broke, it was discovered that the initial geotechnical report had failed to report poor soil conditions. It was quickly discovered that much more soil had to be removed than earlier anticipated.

Because Nu-Look opted for Design-Build, the owner – Nu Look Collision was not responsible for the additional thousands of dollars that was going to be required to remove the additional, unpredicted soil for their new 3,500 SF corporate office headquarters.

By using an innovative Design-Build company such as Passero Spoleta Design-Build, the worries many owners face with the more traditional design delivery methods are virtually eliminated.
