Palatka Municipal Airport Terminal Area Improvements Project Wins Northeast Florida Regional Council Regional Transportation Excellence Award

The Palatka Municipal Airport in Palatka, Florida was recently honored with the Regional Transportation Excellence Award by the Northeast Florida Regional Council, as part of their 9th Annual Northeast Florida Elected Officials Reception and 2009 Regional Leadership Awards.  Improvement projects at the airport include the design and construction of a new 4,300 square foot General Aviation Terminal Building, design and construction of new hangars, airport access improvements, renovation of Taxiway B, and renovation of Runway 17-35.  These projects were active simultaneously and completed on time and within budget.

Passero Associates, LLC, (PA) serving as Program Manager and Engineer, provided design and construction inspection services and managed close coordination amongst the management, operations and construction teams for all the projects at the airport.  PA created the schematic design, administered the design-builder selection process and acted as the owner’s representative during construction of the Terminal Building.
