July 2010 - Passero Associates congratulates Executive Assistant Pam Johnson, CPS/CAP, on being elected President of the Flower City Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).  Ms. Johnson will serve two terms as president, beginning July 1, 2010.

Pam Johnson serves as Executive Assistant for Gary Passero, CEO, and for the Engineering Department. She has over 26 years experience in the administrative assistant/secretarial field, including 18 years with Eastman Kodak Company prior to joining Passero.  Pam holds an Associates Degree in Word Processing/Secretarial from Bryant & Stratton.  She is certified as a Professional Secretary (CPS), as a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and as a Notary Public.  Pam is a resident of Hamlin, New York.

Pam joined the Flower City Chapter of IAAP in October 1994.  She has served as Vice President in 2009, and previously as Secretary, as Co-Chair of Arrangements, and as Chair of the Arrangements Committee.  Pam also received the chapter’s Member of the Year Award in 2009 CPS/CA.

The International Association of Administrative Professionals is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Their mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development. The association founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association's name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the large number of varied administrative job titles and recognize the advancing role of administrative support staff in business and government.

The Flower City Chapter of IAAP meets the first Wednesday of the month (excluding July, August, and January) at the Rochester Airport Marriott. Each meeting offers an opportunity for networking, dinner, and an educational program, followed by a brief Chapter business meeting.
